Incorporating opportunities for everyday discussions around current issues and injustices; her children became engaged in the civil rights movement, often traveling to support the efforts to increase Black voter registration.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In 2004, Yuri Published her book <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>Passing it On &#8211; A Memoir<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 For the book\u2019s release event the whole Kochiyama family gathered together to celebrate her book.
